HEADLINE SPEAKER JOE TIDY & TIM PEAKE
I make complex security problems legible to the people who need to act on them. That is the thread that runs through everything I have done — from operating classified systems in the Royal Navy, to leading risk and assurance activity across defence programmes.
My background is not a straight line, and I do not think that is a weakness. The Royal Navy gave me discipline and decision-making under pressure. Running my own business gave me commercial instincts and accountability.
In cybersecurity, I have built my career at the intersection of technical risk and human communication. I am most effective when the stakes are high, the audience is non-technical, and the job is to turn a complicated picture into a clear decision. That is what I did on a recent programme with sovereign partners and competing priorities. It is what I want to do as a consultant.
I am currently exploring opportunities in GRC and cyber risk consultancy — roles where I can bring my knowledge and strong advisory skills directly to clients across sectors.
If you are building a team that values people who can hold a room as well as read a risk register, I would love to talk.
